Archives For leader

We all create something different in the world. We are all unique. That’s why every chance I get I ask people, “What if you, truly being you, are the gift, the change and the possibility this world requires?”

Meet 16 year old entrepreneur Maya Penn, who reminded me again when watching this video –  EVERYTHING you do contributes to the world in some way, even if you don’t see it or get it right away.  You, being you, creates the change you’ve always known should be possible.

By creating what she loves, Maya IS changing the world. Click HERE to watch the video below.

So my friends, what future would you like to create? As Maya says, ‘the smallest actions lead to the biggest change’.

If you’d like to start your own business – great. Or create a non-profit – awesome.

But what if all of those outward creations that get acknowledged all come from truly being you?

What if that smallest action that changes everything is your choice to be you, in every moment, of every day, no matter what the situation?

You are the future. What would you like to create?

Until next time,

Dain

Leading Without Followers

December 21, 2015 — 3 Comments

Would you like to see something different being created on this planet of ours?

I know I do. And I know it’s possible. What about you?

What do you know, that you’ve been pretending not to know, or denying that you know, that if you allowed yourself to know it, would change everything in our world for the greater?

Would you be willing to know it, create it, and lead your life, and this planet, to something greater?

A leader knows where they must go and is willing to go there even if nobody gets it, nobody understands it, and nobody follows.

If we’re truly going to change the face of this planet, we need to step up and have a voice.  And by voice, I don’t mean shouting from the rooftops. You may not even have to say a word. What can your very presence invite everyone around you to?

I recently spoke at an event, Wisdom Stockholm, talking about our capacity to shape the planet’s future and tools to assist in choosing it.  Click HERE or below to watch the video of my talk below.

True leaders don’t create followers. They create leaders.

Is now the time to take the lead, without expecting anyone to follow, and create what you know is possible in the world?

You can be a voice for the world. You, being you, is a contribution that can not only change someone’s world, but also change the planet.

Until next time,

Dain

When you live in and with a reality that is the direct anti-thesis of you as a being, at certain point you get really, really angry. Ever notice?

What if what you feel as “anger” is actually the power and potency required to create dynamic change?

What do you do with it? Well, next time you feel angry, instead of holding on and maintaining the anger, you can ask these two questions:

“Is this anger or is this the demand for change?”

and…

“What can I be or do that will allow this to change?”

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, recently chose to be and do something different with his “anger” … and it’s one of the best examples I’ve seen that illustrates what is truly possible when you use your potency and demand for change to create something greater in the world!

The Recycled Orchestra

December 19, 2013 — 1 Comment

The “recycled orchestra” is an orchestra where the kids play instruments made out of trash. Check out the creativity…and the kindness!

“People realize that we shouldn’t throw away trash carelessly. We shouldn’t throw away people either.”

What else is possible when we are willing to see the contribution of everything around us?

Difference

I look at being a leader from a totally different place than most people.

From my point of view, being a leader is when you’re able to know what you know and follow what you know regardless of whether anybody else goes along. It doesn’t exclude anyone, because anyone can come along—IF THEY CHOOSE IT.

That’s what being a leader is from my point of view.

In this reality to be a leader you must have followers. I totally disagree. My point of view is that in order to be a leader you must lead yourself, and if anybody else follows because you’ve got such a brilliant idea, no problem. But if you’re truly being a leader you will empower them to know what they know, not simply get them to try to follow you.

This is a totally different concept in leadership. For me, that’s what’s required if we’re going to change tracks on the planet right now.

Being a leader is being willing to step into what you know and follow it. It’s really that simple. It’s about having a sense of trust in you and your knowing, even when that
knowing doesn’t match other people’s points of view.
