Archives For what if

Have you ever had someone look at you with absolutely no judgment?

That moment, when someone actually sees you for you, all of you, and knows that nothing is, was, or ever will be wrong with you, changes everything.

Experiencing this can be one of the most caring, nurturing and even seductive experiences in the world.

There are even psychological studies that suggest it only takes four minutes of direct eye contact for strangers to fall in love.

Recently Amnesty International took this one step further. They tested the 4 min idea in a more fragile situation; the refugee crisis in Europe and the increasing xenophobia.

They asked a number of Europeans and refugees to stare into each other’s eyes for 4 minutes.

This is what happened:

See, we’ve been trained to start every new encounter by a series of judgment to determine where this person fits into our pre-defined version of reality. We’ve basically been programmed to separate.

What if that training is what is in the way for a different future of the world?

What if oneness is actually much easier than you’ve ever imagined?

What if just a few minutes of eye contact could create that space of no judgment when you can see who this person actually…be?

Would you be willing to try this out? Today?

Ask someone, maybe even someone you’re not having an easy time with, to share a gaze with you for four minutes.

No other instructions or distractions. Put a timer on, stay present and look into each other’s eyes.

Then see what changes for the both of you.

Have you noticed that you, or people around you, recently have been having more physical ailments and diseases than in a long time? Or that old issues with their bodies are coming back?

What if they are detoxing energetically? What if they are detoxing what is no longer working for them?

Many of the people that are having body issues going on right now, are people that have been doing more work to increase their awareness of themselves, who they truly are and the world around them.

What if what is going on is exactly what is required? What if now is the time to detox this reality?

Ryland was born a girl but as soon as she could speak, she insisted she was a boy. Despite the judgment and opposition around them, Ryland’s parents have always been on their child’s side. “We signed up as parents with no strings attached.”

What if we would choose to see the person in front of us without the automatic definitions this reality imposes on people? What if we instead recognized the amazing being that is there?

What if we were willing to create ourselves beyond all the definitions, conclusions or judgments we’ve bought as true up til this point?

Who would you be?

What would your world be like?

We never quite know how life’s obstacles and challenges will change our course. We can never really predict either the tragedies in life or the greatnesses that come from them.

What if one choice, one question, can drastically change everything?

This TEDx talk of Amy Purdy, Gold Medalist and entrepreneur who lost her legs at age 19; and is truly an example of inspiration on the planet.

If my life were a book…and I was the author…how would I want the story to go? -Amy Purdy

Do you know that you are here to bring something to this world that would change it for the greater? And maybe in ways you’ve never even imagined yet?

What if your limitations and challenges are gifts that ignite your imagination and inspire you to go further than you ever thought you could go?

Do you realize that most of us tend to function from the points of connection?

What is that? Well, what we do is taking a judgment about something we have, that is like somebody else’s judgment, and then we keep connecting to that person (or persons) based on that judgment. It can be our lover, family, friends, colleagues, neighbors…

We then identify those points of connection as what is valuable in our interactions with the world and to keep them in place, we have to keep going back to them.

How much of your energy right now is going back to the past to maintain all your points of connections to people?
How many points of connection do you have that is stopping you form the creation of your life and living?
How many points of connection do you have to what you call awareness and what awareness is that it actually isn’t?

So what else is possible? Would you be willing to instead function from something called the points of creation?

What is that? Well, it means leaving all the points of connections behind and instead continuously ask questions about how someone and something can contribute to you, and you to them, and from there create something new and greater for the future!

That, my friends, is a completely different ball-game….

Is now the time?

Dan Gilbert gives a TedTalk on the phenomenon of how we change throughout our lifetime and how we tend to underestimate the amount of change we will make in the future. He calls for the “end of history illusion,” where we somehow imagine that the person we are right now is the person we’ll be for the rest of time.

Hint: that’s not the case!

“Human beings are works in progress that mistakenly think they’re finished.. The person you are right now is as transient, as fleeting and as temporary as all the people you’ve ever been. The one constant in our life is change.

What would it be like to acknowledge that we create our future selves with every choice we make?

Did you know that you are magic?

What if you are more like Harry Potter than all the ‘muggles’ around you? Here is a quick audio exploring that!

If you were to stop pretending to be normal, average, and the same as everyone else…what magic would open up to you? What would you be able to change that right now feels impossible to change?

Just saying…
